Sports participation has declined from 45% to 38% in underprivileged communities (Aspen Institute Project Play,Cost, 2019).

Children from higher income homes participate in sports at a rate 30% higher than low income families (Aspen Institute Project Play,Cost, 2019).

Childhood obesity prevalence is higher in lower socioeconomic communities and continues to rise at 19.9% (Center of Disease Control and Prevention, Childhood Obesity Facts , 2019).

WHAT IS SPORTS EQUITY?

Sports Equity is fairness, equal access, recognizing inequities and taking action to fix sports inequities for the better. Our commitment to equity continues from establishing wider opportunities and encouraging sports participation and physical activity for all levels of youth no matter (age, disability, religion, race, gender etc).
